One of my favorite times of year… FLEET WEEK! This is a stunning experience if you’ve never gone – you can go aboard big navy ships and talk to crewmen who will explain the operations of the ships and answer all your questions.
If you are a fan of the military, American History or boating, this is for you!

1) Seattle Fleet Week 2021
During the week of August 2 – 6, we will host a variety of live and virtual Seattle Fleet Week and Boeing Maritime activities. From ship tours, interviews with crew, a live SARS demonstration on the Seattle waterfront, Navy Band performances, and so much more. Each morning we will unveil new links for you to explore.

2) VIRTUAL: Families Dance Together with Jacob’s Pillow
It’s time to get moving…together! Jacob’s Pillow is offering the annual Families Dance Together workshop online again this summer! If you’ve been looking to bring a little more joy, music, connection and movement into your life (and who hasn’t wanted at least one of those!) get up and dance!
Experience the joy of creating dances together from the comfort of your home. This workshop is for movers of ALL levels and ages. From kids to adults, we invite you to get your whole household moving!
Families Dance Together will happen every Friday at 3pm ET throughout Festival 2021, from July 9 to August 27.

3) Help Spread The Word: Free Summer Meals at the Shoreline Library
Tell the hungry kids in your life to head down to the library: Nourish your body and brain while you read this summer. Grab a FREE lunch and be a Summer Reader!
This summer, HIP staff will distribute grab-and-go lunches from the library’s lower West Parking Lot. Parents and caregivers can pick up lunch for their child. Children do not need to be present. Meals will be provided for caregivers, too.
Breakfast bags for the week will be available on Mondays.

2) Ready, Set, Play Challenge in Covington
READY-SET-PLAY is a completely FREE and fun annual summer program for elementary school-aged kiddos in the Covington area, made possible through a partnership between the Covington Chamber of Commerce, the Kent School District and the City of Covington.
Kiddos can earn dozens of custom BRAG TAGS® by completing challenges and activities that are sponsored by local businesses and organizations. If your kiddo completes them all and collects all tags by the end of the program on Sept. 6, 2021, they are eligible to earn a prize pack full of goodies!
