Falling For Fall: Happy Pumpkin Day!

I love bright orange pumpkins!  What a happy color!

As a gardener, I love the white pumpkins, warty pumpkins and tiny pumpkins – because who wants to grow just one type?

As a cook – I love the baking pumpkins for pie.  Did you know that pumpkin puree from the store is made with butternut squash?  I heard that a few years ago and I thought it was an OUTRAGE!  LOL!

As homemaker, I love pumpkin decorations, smells, and coffee, because it makes me feel “in the season” for autumn.

As a parent, I love pumpkin seeds because your kids can roast them and make a seasonal snack that’s healthy!

As an artist, I love carving pumpkins.  Everyone is impressed by my jaggedy-tooth vampire pumpkin each year! (I’m pretty sure, at least!)

As a chicken-lady, I love letting my chickens eat up the funky rotten pumpkins that have gone south.
