Your West Seattle Real Estate Agent
West Seattle Real Estate Agent: Emily Cressey
By Emily Cressey, Broker, HomePro Associates at Keller Williams Greater Seattle. Updated October 2026.
I ran cross-country races at Lincoln Park in high school, and I still love a summer day at Alki picking blackberries and watching the ferries. West Seattle is part of the city, but it feels like a world unto itself.
I help buyers and sellers here understand what makes West Seattle different: the bridge, the beaches and the neighborhoods that feel like small towns.

I know West Seattle
From Lincoln Park cross-country races to summer days at Alki, I have been coming here for years.
Over 20 years industry experience
I became a real estate investor in 2002 and was first licensed in 2008. I have been a full time West Seattle real estate agent since 2020.
Value-minded buyers
I think West Seattle is a pretty good value for what you get, and I can show you why.
Take a Summer Walk Through West Seattle With Me
Here is my walk-through of West Seattle and Alki Beach on a summer day.
What Is West Seattle Really Like?
West Seattle sits on a peninsula across the Duwamish Waterway from downtown. You get there over the West Seattle Bridge, which is both its lifeline and its weak spot. When the bridge closed for repairs a few years ago, commutes got very long, and buyers remember that. On the other side, you get beaches, big parks, views of downtown and the Olympics, and a laid-back pace.

Alki Beach
Alki is the closest thing Seattle has to a beach town. There is a long sandy beach, a paved path, the Alki Point Lighthouse and restaurants like Salty’s with the best view of the downtown skyline anywhere. On summer days it is packed, so if you buy near Alki, expect traffic and visitors on sunny weekends.
Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park has forest trails, beaches and an outdoor saltwater pool, Colman Pool, right on the Sound. It is where I used to run cross-country races in high school, and it still has some of the best woods in the city.
West Seattle Neighborhoods and Homes
- Alki: beach living, condos and view homes, with summer crowds.
- Admiral: established homes, views and the Admiral Theater.
- The Junction: West Seattle’s main street on California Avenue, with shops, restaurants and the farmers market.
- Fauntleroy and Arbor Heights: quieter, wooded streets near the ferry to Vashon.
- Delridge and High Point: more affordable homes and newer townhomes.

What Locals Love
- Alki Beach and Lincoln Park
- Views of downtown and the Olympics
- The Junction and small-town feel
- Good value compared with north Seattle
- Ferries to Vashon and the Kitsap Peninsula
What to Know Before You Buy
- The West Seattle Bridge is the main route in and out.
- Parking near the Junction and Alki can be tough.
- Industrial areas and the port are close by.
- California Avenue gets busy.
- Like anywhere in the city, there is some crime. Check each block.
How I Help West Seattle Sellers
West Seattle buyers want the lifestyle: the beach, the parks and the Junction. I market your home around how people actually live here, and I price it against the right part of the peninsula, because Alki, Admiral and Delridge are very different markets.
How I Sell Your Home: The A-PLUS Method
Every listing I take follows the same five steps. It is the system I wrote up in my free A-PLUS seller guide, and it is how I keep a sale organized when life is anything but.
A: Assess
We walk the house together, talk about your timeline and your bottom line, and look at what similar homes actually sold for.
P: Prepare
Cleaning, paint, repairs that affect financing, and staging. I have contractors who will wait to be paid at closing.
L: Launch
Professional photos, video, the MLS, social media and my email list, all going live on the same day.
U: Urgency
Pricing and showing schedules designed to bring buyers in at the same time so they compete.
S: Sell
I negotiate the offers, the inspection and the appraisal, and I stay with you through closing.

Buying in West Seattle
If you want beaches, parks and a neighborhood feel without leaving the city, West Seattle is a great fit. Test the commute over the bridge at rush hour, and visit on a summer weekend if you are looking near Alki.

West Seattle Real Estate Questions
Is West Seattle a good place to buy?
For many buyers, yes. It offers beaches, parks and a neighborhood feel, often at better prices than north Seattle. The bridge commute is the main trade-off.
How long is the commute from West Seattle to downtown?
Usually 15 to 30 minutes over the West Seattle Bridge, longer at rush hour. Buses and the water taxi are options too.
Which part of West Seattle is best?
It depends on what you want. Alki and Admiral have views and beach access, the Junction is walkable, and Delridge and High Point offer more value.
Which school district serves West Seattle?
Seattle Public Schools. Confirm the assignment for each address.
What other areas do you serve?
I serve King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties, including all of Seattle, Burien and Des Moines.
