Ever since 1909, a sense of spirited tradition has swept over Everett every year. July starts to stir feelings of nostalgia and excitement in the hearts of local residents. Yes, we’re talking about the Independence Day Parade – a tradition that has been part of our community for more than a century.
Get up close and personal with the vibrant spectacle of marching bands, magnificent floats, and engaging community participation. A patriotic show like no other! Time-honored custom has people lined up down the streets, eagerly awaiting the procession that’s adorned with flags, festive floats, marching bands and more.
From seniors who’ve seen it all to kids experiencing their first parade we unite to celebrate our nation’s independence and shared American’s belonging. Organized by the Everett July Fourth Foundation, the parade shows our community as a proud civic contributor and place welcoming for all well-meaning American patriots in the pacific northwest.

Tacoma’s 4th of July Summer Blast
Tacoma’s 4th of July celebration is back! Head to the Ruston Way Waterfront where you’ll enjoy a full day of live music, food, entertainment, and craft vendors. The fun begins at noon and ends with spectacular fireworks over Puget Sound.
The celebration takes place at Dune Peninsula and Cummings Park on Ruston Way with over 150 vendors, 2 stages and a 20-minute firework display. The fireworks display can be seen from Dune Peninsula Park in the north, along Ruston Way Waterfront, and stretching to Jack Hyde Park in the south.

Lakefair Week
This season marks 67 years of serving our community in Thurston County. Capital Lakefair has been a local tradition since the inaugural festival in 1957, when residents and area small businesses sought to coordinate a family oriented summer event. Lakefair has helped to raise millions of dollars for non-profit food vendors, provided a venue for local and regional craft vendors, and provided more than $400,000 in scholarship funding for students from local high schools to pursue the trades and higher education.
