How I Work With Buyers and Sellers
Buying a Home in North Seattle
I love working with home buyers in every situation… whether you are buying your first home, downsizing into something easier to manage, or looking for an investment property.
I have been an investor since 2002, so I look at every house from an investment perspective, as well as whether it is a happy fit for you!
Selling a Home in North Seattle
Sellers usually want three things… the most money, a fast closing, and no glitches along the way.
I have built my systems around getting you those results, and they hold up even in a challenging market. I was a Phi Beta Kappa kind of student, so yes, I call my method A-PLUS, and I still like turning in A-plus work.

Why I Love North Seattle
The Fun, Semi-Urban Core of the City
When I think about the area north of downtown, I think of the fun, semi-urban core of Seattle. The University of Washington, Ballard, Fremont and Wallingford each have their own personality, and the U District has plenty of student life. Fremont is full of public art, including the giant troll under the bridge and the Waiting for the Interurban statue.
When my husband worked in Wallingford, I would come visit him for lunch at a Greek restaurant. I once tried their egg, lemon and rice soup, something I had never had before, and it was delicious. Usually I am a plain Jane who loves the gyros and feta cheese. I would watch the duck tours roll by, taking tourists past a lot of these fun places. There is a picturesque drawbridge nearby, too.
There is a great Greek restaurant up on 45th now, and I think it may be the same one, moved from closer to Gasworks Park. Also on 45th is a drinking chocolate spot where I met a friend for chocolate and bagels last year. It was delicious, and it was great to catch up with someone from high school I had not seen in a while.
Ballard, Where My Grandparents Took Their Guests
The Ballard Locks are where my grandparents always took their guests. Working fishermen and real boats fill the harbor, the National Nordic Museum celebrates the neighborhoodβs roots, and I remember the Swedish pancake breakfasts put on by local community groups.
A friend who lived in Ballard used to say that everything you need is in Ballard, and if it is not in Ballard, you do not need it. It is a little more isolated and farther from the freeway, but it has a saltwater beach, great restaurants like Rayβs right down on the water (I had lunch there this summer), and Golden Gardens Park, a great place to see the sunset.
Salmon, Stink and Carkeek Park
We like going to Carkeek Park in the fall, when the salmon return to Piperβs Creek. It is a great show, with one catch: it can get very stinky once the fish have spawned and died. Consider yourself warned.
Husky Basketball and the Thai Place That Kept Changing Owners
As a kid, I came to the University of Washington for basketball camp and to watch the Husky womenβs basketball team play. My sister had an apartment in the U District while she was in law school, and we had a favorite Thai place there. It seemed to be under new ownership every six months or so, but the food was always great.
There is a lot to do up here. Call me and I will help you sort out which neighborhood fits your life.
Buying in North Seattle: Commutes, Parking and Hills
Drive your commute at the hour you would actually make it before you fall in love with a house. Check parking and street grades on the block too, since they vary a lot from one North Seattle neighborhood to the next.
Other Places to Look
Want a yard and a little more room? Look at the suburbs north of Seattle. Want to be across the lake? Look at the Eastside. Want to be closer to downtown? Look at Seattle city neighborhoods. I work in all of them, so call me and I will help you compare.
