Hey there Seattle!,
Looks like we’re in for more hot weather this week. I am trying to stay cool when I’m at home (blinds down! windows closed!) but it’s a little harder when I’m working in my car on an 80-degree day!
This week we are soaking at the end of summer! Get outside with a pop-up story walk or check out a new art style at the Chalk Fest in Redmond.

1) PopUp Story Walk: Dreamers
Family program, all ages welcome with adults. Dreamers by Yuyi Morales will come to life in a short PopUp Story Walk around the park along the paved and stroller-friendly path.
Where: 3501 NE 41st Street, Seattle, 98195 (Center for Urban Horticulture)
When: Now-Sept. 1
Location details: Gravel path and about a 1/4 mile walk. Follow signs to start at Union Bay Natural Area. The Montlake bridge is closed- take alternate routes to the UW area.
*Weekend afternoon and evening parking is difficult due to private events at the Botanic Gardens. Try for a weekday visit or weekend mornings.

2) Float Find 2021 with Schack Art Center
During the month of August, we will hide 200 specially marked orange Frisbees throughout area parks. When you find a Float Find Frisbee, bring it into Schack Art Center during our operating hours and redeem it for a beautiful, hand blown glass float! This way, we can all maintain our distance and you have multiple chances to find them. Share the love, one Frisbee per person/limit two per household, please.

3) Pacific NW Chalk Fest

2) VIRTUAL: TADA! Youth Theater Presents Performances of Heroes, an Original Musical Production
Looking for some fun, family entertainment this August? TADA! Youth Theater has the answer! TADA! Youth Theater, a unique Drama Desk award-winning nonprofit youth theater that produces original musicals for children, teens, and family audiences, is performing Heroes live and streaming performances online starting on August 15th. In Heroes, when the sun disappears due to bad behavior, seven young people must each embark on a magical quest to bring back the sun and learn along the way that everyone can be a hero through the simplest deeds.
The 13 cast members are members of the free Resident Youth Ensemble of TADA! (RYET) and are currently rehearsing in-person and working diligently to get ready for the opening night of Heroes that will be available online to friends, families, and the public later this month.
