Buying a home is not as simple as going to the store and buying a dozen eggs, or clicking a button on Amazon Prime for overnight delivery.
In-Home Buying, There’s No Instant Gratification:
It can be frustrating for those of us who are used to just going to the store, grabbing what we want, and checking out… or even better having it delivered to our doorstep from the comfort of our own home.
So What Is A Home Buyer To Do?
What I like to do is slow down the process into different phases
– Online Research,
– In-Person Research
– Paperwork Review (yay! Everyone’s favorite!), and FINALLY….
– Making Offers on Homes.
That’s right – making the offer to purchase a home usually comes at the end of a significant period of preparation.
From there… The next step is to get a home under contract.
In today’s market, where many buyers want to purchase the same home, this can be tough.
While some of my buyers DO get their first offers accepted, many others have to make multiple offers in order to get a home under contract with a price they can be happy with and terms that help them feel safe.
It’s an exercise in Patience, Risk-Management, Game Theory, and handling that FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).
The good news is I’ve never “not” gotten someone a house.
